Launch of Heather Jessup’s This is Not a Hoax

Stop by and help me celebrate my new book out about art hoaxes, literature, and the feeling of being duped, which I also hope is a celebration of the surprising ways hoaxes can call our attention to human capacities for flexibility, adaptation, and resilience.

7pm: Cake and A Pseudonym Generating Machine!
8pm: Reading and 3-minute stories about being duped!

Create a Pseudonym using a Pseudonym and Selfie Station (originally developed by the amazing folks at Mobil Art School ) and join me as I read a short selection from the book, followed by quick 3-minute reflections on moments of being duped from local writers and academics in Vancouver that I deeply admire: DF Parizeau, Elee Kraljii Gardiner, Mandy Len Catron, Phaneul Antwi, and Sherryda Warrener.

Twisted Poets Series

Elee Kraljii Gardiner, Vera Constantineau, Maureen Medved, Jennifer Van Evra & Fiona Tinwei Lam read their own and excerpted readings of essays by contributors John Asfour, Susan Briscoe, and Harry Langen, who passed away prior to publication of the anthology. The reading is dedicated to them.
